As you may already know, an outbreak of Swine Flu (2009 H1N1) has led the United States to issue a public health emergency.  Although we do not have any known cases in Alabama, the Alexander City School System has implemented Infection Control Procedures in an effort to keep students and staff healthy and reduce the risk of illness.  We are educating students and staff on good protective measures such as:

• Wash your hands often
• Cover your cough with tissue or your sleeve
• Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and nose with your hands
• Clean and disinfect any contaminated surfaces

Our school system nurses are monitoring the situation every day.
